Lil' better pics from outside yesterday. I'm on call this week so I could only take pics. No shooting.
Nestled in Millet adjustable high rings, it's less than a dime thickness above the barrel, but it clears.
BTW, this thing was 80 bucks at the local Gander. I know, Gander is disliked by some and I've seen gouging on things, but if you research, they do have decent prices on things.
Barska site "buy now" on this model is $207.25
The BSA was only a dollar more and half the distance, as opposed to going to wally world for it.
DR I have shot this gun in the warm weather with kb last early fall, and loved the trigger. Between it and the lefty (first time for me ever shooting a lefty gun) when kb offered it up for sale it was a no brainer for me. I don't have a pull gauge but wherever kb adjusted it to is perfect.
Ape, we gots plenty of tree rats, but gophers around here are whistle pigs (ground hogs). My Gramps used to eye shoot 'em at a hundred yards out in a bean field when they stood up with an old Nylon 66 and irons. Used to tease me about "needing" a telescope on a gun.
Whistle pigs are varmints, but squirrel are seasonal hunting game, as well as yotes, and others.
.22 is fine for squirrel and even pigs out to 100 or so with head shots, but the crazy things have excellent sight and are hard to get close to. For pigs and yotes, this scope might find it's way onto a better Varmint caliber in the future. Something in oh.................I dunno, 270? 204? 220 swift? 22-250?
