Somehow I missed getting the pic at SHOt, well I wasn't about to screw that up again!

So I introduce to you.... The Heritage Big Bore "Old West" edition!

Forgive the model. He was too excited about the gun to keep the hammer in the proper safe position. The Heritage was unloaded.

I like that antiqued look!
Are they already selling that!?!?
Cause now I'm torn between case hardened and that finish!
And what are they calling that finish?

Yes they are selling it!

The finish is called "Old West" and it comes in either the 4.75" barrel or the 5.5" barrel (Shown). It comes in45 cal. only and the model numbers are:

RR45OW4 For the 4.75"
RR45OW5 For the 5.5"

MSRP is around $519.99 but I'd expect the dealers to sell it for a little less.

BTW: My wife saw the pics of it and she likes it too!

DANG YOU! I really want my .45's! :-(
And now that I've seen that I want them even more! :-(

Maybe I can do one case hardened and one Old West? That might be kind of cool to have them mismatched looking like some old hardened cowboy? Right? Maybe? :?

The only problem with that finish is that the grips look out of place? :?
I'd have to "distress" the wood a bit to make it look right.

My granddad has an old H&R .22 magnum that he always carried hunting with him. The finish is completely gone, but the grips are as smooth as anything I've ever seen. It pretty well looks like this gun...just sand the shine off of the grips and you've got it

That's pretty much what I'd do I think.
But I might put a few distress marks in the wood as well just to make it look more used.

Don't get me wrong P22....So do I!
I just think it almost looks like the grips are new replacements on an old gun or something. :?

I agree Ape. The grips are supposed to be "distressed" from the factory, but they still look to shiny and new. SOme sanding, some staples pushed in then pulled out, and some bleaching and staining with watered down/seperated black paint would do the trick.
