I've read a few articles about this new round. All the articles say it has a similar punch to the .357 but without all the recoil.

Ruger rebuilt their SP101 specifically for this caliber and a few gun smiths are rechambering single sixes for the round as well.

What I have noticed, is that the new .327 round isn't stocked my local mart, just the gun stores here, so I have two questions for you.

1.) Have you seen this round at a Cabella's, Dick's, or Bass Pro?

and

2.) Do you think Heritage should try to rebore (Legnthen) the 32 cylinder to fit this round? (The .327 chamber will still hold .32 H&R mangum rounds correctly as well as the .32 S&W rounds.)

I've heard a little about the round since I own an SP101 .32, but I didn't know that they were interchangeable????

The only negative I would put on it would be the expense. But that's just a guess since I haven't seen the ammo for sale yet myself? But I have to assume it's not gonna be cheap because of the specialized nature of the round. :?

That being said the H&R or S&W longs that I buy for my SP101 now aren't cheap either? :-(

I would buy one. The nice thing about this caliber is that you can shoot 32 H&R mags (like 38 specials in 357 mag). I would want a steel frame for this caliber, just to reduce the possibility of damaging the top strap of the frame.

It would definitely need to be done on the steel frame just for the pressure. The big question besides the pressure tolerances is whether there is room enough in the cylider or if they need to make it longer and if the longer one will fit.

I guess I need to do some looking into this .327 round? I wasn't aware my wife's SP101 .32 could shoot it?

I think your wife's .32 might not have the correct cylinder for it. Ruger rebored their cylinder so it has a countersink to hold the longer .327 cartridge.

That's kind of the impression I had when it intially came out?
That's also why I need to check into it some more and find out for certain. ;-)

If I understand the caliber correctly, a .327 revolver will chamber .327, .32 H&R, and .32 S&W long.

I would say that's pretty versatile. I may end up getting a Charter Arms in the mean time, until Heritage offers one.

BTW, thanks for the email from admin reminding me that I hadn't visited in a while.

Well I know I can use S&W long's in my Ruger SP101 .32 that's made for H&R magnums.
But I haven't found out yet if the .327 will work in that chamber or if it has to be chambered for the .327 to be able to handle that caliber as well? :?

And welcome back shadow ;-)

The gun must be chambered for the .327 round and then the other rounds can be shot in it.

I haven't seen the ammo or guns but I'm thinking that a Charter Arms Patriot in 2" or 4" SS would make a dandy kit gun.

Like I've said before, I would love to see Heritage offer one. I'd really like one with a bird's head grip. Hint, hint! I would imagine that the SASS crowd would love a 3" barrelled version for vest pockets. Heck I would love one just for plinking.

Anyway, I am glad to be back with my friends

Glad to have you back!

Yep. I like the idea of a .327 kit gun.

The 327 would be a fine , if intense little fella. Anything loaded to 45,000psi chamber pressure is going to sound off! If Ruger comes out with a single action I'll bet it'll be a 6 shot Blackhawk. This is a considerably hotter round than the H&R32. While we're at it why don't we hope Marlin will make a rifle in this as they did 32H&R. And any one else who wants to as well, Henry, Mossberg are you listening?

A .327 lever action. Why didn't I think of that? :notworthy:

And since this is a Heritage fan site, we should hold out for a Big Bore 327mag as well. The 32-20 ,sort of, in straight wall mgnum. :gunslinger:
