Forum rules

As with any great game there are rules.

1: This is a Family Site that means:
__ a: No sexually explicit pictures or avaters.
__ b: No vulgar profanity. (Keep it PG)
__ c: No personal insults (Argue the point, not the person.)

2: Keep all political/religious debates civil. Different viewpoints are good. Hating someone for that different is bad.

3: No "smack-talk" of someone elses gun. Every gun is a Heirloom to it's owner.

4: No spamming or fly-by-night sales. This isn't free-advertising.com! Go sell your stuff somewhere else.

5: If you don't like guns or shooting hobbies, go somewhere else! There are other places to go that feel that way and would love you to join them. Let us enjoy our hobby!

6: Have fun! You're here to relax and enjoy yourself. Keep it light and don't get caught up in the gun-smoke!

I like that! I was also thinkin that I'd take a magic marker and put a couple of prisonesque tear drops next to my eye. And a buddy of mine said he'd drop by at the right moment so we could discuss some less than savory past dealings in front of the boy! :funny:

Ape (coming in the front door just behind his daughter's prospective suitor, leaning a shovel next to the door, wiping the mud from his boots then moving over to begin cleaning the shotgun he was carrying opposite the shovel, to Mrs. Ape in another room): Honey?! Have you seen that bag of lime? I can't remember what I did with it the last time...

  :quiet:

There's a line I came up with that my wife tells me I'm not allowed to use unless the situation becomes bad. I figure "bad" should be determined by my impressions of the boy. My wife says it's if the boy get's "out of hand".

I figure I'll pull him aside and lay out the rules in a soft quiet voice, so I come across as tame and non threatening.....Then at the very end of the conversation I'll squeeze the back of his neck with my strong hand (placed there innocently durring the quiet conversation) with powerful intent and tell him even more quietly...... "I've been to prison for killing a Man before, and I'd have no problem going back to prison for killing a boy that touched or treated my daughter inappropriately"!
That coupled with what he would then have to assume is me cleaning gun's I shouldn't legally have...... should be a good start to keeping the boys from doing anything to my daughter that I was always trying to do as a teenager to other fathers daughters! :funny:

Or make it even more exciting because of the element of 'danger' involved. Or more of a challenge, just to prove that he can.

I know you are kidding (sort of) but in all seriousness, thinking of the law of unintended consequences, consider also that (having scared off the would-be boyfriends who might try something) you may leave her no choice but to date guys who won't be scared/impressed by that, like gang-bangers, thugs, etc. Imagine getting a response such as, "You've capped a guy? Really? Me, too. Bein' I was 12 and all, though, they charged me as a juvie so I didn't spend too long inside."

LOL.... Well I don't plan on "scaring" them off so much as I plan to put the fear of God into them. :wink1: Just need to make them aware that when this girl says NO, it's backed up with a scary Dad!
The issue lies mostly with my daughter and how my wife and I are teaching her how to live her life. Her decisions are the important one's. I'm just there to make sure those decisions are taken seriously. :grin1:

And, from what I know of you based on your posts here and at KTOG, that is why I'm betting she'll be just fine.

I hope so...... But ya never can tell sometimes. :dunno:
I know there were plenty of stupid choices I made as a kid. But I got lucky a bunch of times and didn't have to pay to steep of a penalty.
