Well gonna be picking up a RR soon and was looking at several different places for an appropriate holster. Trying to find one used and online is tuff.

Would one meant for the ruger single six in the same barrel length be an except able size. Any other popular makes very close?

Yep. Holsters for the S.S. with the same sized barrel should work just fine.

If you'd like some from Heritage itself, chech out their site.

Also, my Heritage came with a Hunter brand nylon holster that works well, so that's also a good choice and i bet Uncle Mike's has some for small framed revolver holsters that fit as well.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Cabela's has a pretty nice looking 22 rig.

Well, I got this one in a lefty model with my RR from kb.
It's the second one down the page, Cheyenne Double Loop, and fits the 6 1/2" barrel RR really well IMO. You can click the link on it to see the fitment guide.
For the price, I don't think you could find a used one much better. I'm assuming a "cowboy" style is what you are looking for.

Thanks for that link Erc. That will help. Keep the suggestions coming all I really appreciate the quality info. that has been given. Anyone know what the difference in size to a Colt or clone in 45lc is? slimmer in the chamber right?

After looking at the difference between my .357 and my R.R. I can say that the frame of the big bore is wider, longer, and a smidge taller than the .22. So I'd say it would easily be the same for the 45 as well.

Now, after saying that, I have to say that I was able to fit my big bore into the nylon holster that came with my .22 R.R. pretty easily and that it balanced well in there even though the holster was made for a gun with a 6.5" barrel and the big bore has a 5.5" one.

A holster for a Ruger SS would be perfect for a RR too. That said, a holster for a 5 1/2" full size SA ( like a Colt SAA or clone) works good too. See Erc's holster pic. One more option ,if you want a lot of protection for the gun would be a full flap holster, I used one of these both for my HRR and a 7 1/2" 45 SA too. Price here includes shipping also.

Mine is the top (plain ) one.

So a holster as mentioned above will work with a 6.5 inch HRR? Just seeking a clarification.
