What kind of finish is on that? Looks like powder coat.
Honestly I could care less about the .45lc chambering, especially since I haven't seen that caliber in six plus months anyhow. But i've wanted a .410 revolver for snakes and pure fun. I'm liking that one but I'm thinking the price is a little too high :hmmmm:

>45lc can still be found on line Concho. But you're right, I haven't seen it locally in some time now. :?

As far as the price goes..... It's about 100 to 200 cheaper than a Judge right now. And it's right about in line with a standard big bore single action. So I don't think it's too bad of a price. Of course I'd rather all guns be a hundred bucks or cheaper, but that aint gonna happen for my cheap backside! lol :wink1:

Don't forget also that price is MSRP. I just listed the MSRP for the Standard 6&1/2' barrel blued combo version of the Rough Rider at $229.99 for fixed sights and $279.99 for adjustable sights.

So use thats MSRP against the dealer price you get at you favorite gun store and it should give you an idea of what the store price will be. (Expect the store to price it a touch higher for being newly introduced though.)

Also The finish on the 45/410 is the same finish of their steel framed Rough Riders. They call it, "Black Satin Finish".

The brouchure reads, "Deep matt black, low gloss, Black Satin Finish was developed by Heritage so you can enjoy all the benefits of your Rough Rider. For field use where non-glare situations are neccessary."

Now it doesn't say if its a powdercoat of some sort, but there are scenes of the finish coating area of the factory in the video tour and it semmed to me that the finishing was done by emmersing the gun into the chemicals. Also there was no "paint booth" that would be needed to powdercoat the guns without contaminations from the other parts of the factory.

Oh you guys are killing me! CA wont let a short barreled shotgun into the state. But, I recently got a frame and cyl from a cattleman and saved it to build a revolving rifle in 45lc.I have a barrel for it and need to build a butstock.

Don't you need to build some sort of flash guard for a set up like that?
And are there regs and forms you have to follow in order to do that? Especially in a communist state?

suprisingly no. I can change a pistol into a rifle, but not back into a pistol. I also cant make the butt removable. altho I could make it fold. with revolving rifles both hands are kept back on the pistol grip. DR

I only ask because I've seen the new ones coming out that have the flash guard for the cylinder so you can hold it like a regular rifle without having to worry about hurting yourself.

Remington made one based on the 1858 frame that Im trying to keep the same lines. even with a flashguard I dont think Id want my hand out there. have you ever seen someone shoot a revolver at night? DR

That's why I asked! It looks scary! :scared:
Plus I watched that episode of Mythbusters where they tried to recreate a finger getting severed by the cylinder blast! :scared:  :?

Ewe! I haddent seen that one. I did see the one where they were looking into fingers being severed by airbags.I know someone who had that happen. he was driving with his finger stuck through a hole in the wheel when someone pulled out in front of him and he t boned them. granted he may have lost the finger anyway, just from the impact. but it was intresting to see how mythbuster went about testing it. DR

I missed that one. :sad1: Luckily I know they'll re-run it sometime on the weekend.

That's going to be a nice rifle there. And it is wierd how you can turn a pistol to a short barreled rifle, but not a rifle into a short barreled one without the tax stamp. (Michael Bane talked about this in a few of his podcasts recently)

And for those who are really wanting a 454 Cassul version, Tauruas now makes one for their Judge line.

The Raging Judge, I believe, but it is a handgun not a revolving rifle. Of course, Taurus is also making the Circuit Judge which is a revolving rifle but is not chambered up to .454, just .45 and .410. Both of those are new this year, IIRC. Of course, as they will already have the setup to make a .454 revolver and will already have the setup to make a revolving rifle, it shouldn't be that big a leap to make a .454 revolving rifle if the revolving rifle concept takes off. I'd certainly want to make sure they had the whole revolving rifle/blast shield protection thing worked out before I'd go shooting a .454 revolving rifle, though. I certainly don't need damage to my support arm from cylinder blast and shrapnel from an exploding blast shield!
