Well, probably not plain 'plastic', more like the same polymer type stuff that most gun makers are using for their frames. But, come on, I still would not trust it very well. Last time I shot my Neos, I put 8 mags thru it in less than 5 mins, and the barrel was way too hot to handle. So, a poly shrouded steel barrel does not give me a warm ( no pun intended, well, I guess it was ) fuzzy feeling. And whats up with that big knobby end ? Sure they had to do something to get the sights back in line, but they could at least given it some class by making it look like a brake.

I suspect it's legal because in the BATFErs eyes you're buying a whole NEOS sans grip and barrel. The"upper" is serial numbered and considered the firearm by the BATFErs.

I hear ya Hou...... But there are some makers out there who have the same type of tech in their guns that seem to work? Although I'd have to wonder what the life expectancy would be. :dunno:
Not to mention accuracy attributes with the light weight barrel flexing all the time? :dunno:

Not sure about the flexing. Maybe if it was a .22 Mag ??? Not sure a LR has the power. I used to get some whip with my Mini-14, but took care of that with an aluminum outer sleeve.

There is a post over on RimFire from a user with the kit. He has some pics of a range trip. Most appear to me that the accuracy is about minute of pie plate. I can get far better groups with my $120 Savage.

That is sad to hear seeing as the pistol is such a tack driver.

Well I know I've read reports on the Magnum research all composite .22 that say it's a tack driver?
And being an all composite gun it's by far the lightest rifle I've ever held. However it's not completely composite material since the lining of the barrel is a steel sleeve.
So perhaps Beretta just missed the boat when it comes to the materials used. :dunno:

I wish I could help out on how tight a group it shoots, but it was so cold, windy, and rainy that I just let the lead fly.

I am surprised that I didn't catch the barrel being polymer with a steel insert. I held that gun-kit at least three or four times in three days. :dunno:

Just because you wantingly fondeled it doesn't mean you payed attention to anything other than the sexy lines she was showing you. :funny: :wink1:
